It's important to note that these recommendations DON'T constitute medical diagnosis or treatment, but rather general advice drawn from broad skincare knowledge to aid users in identifying products that might meet their personal skin needs. Please Consult with a licensed dermatologist, or medical professional before making any decisions related to your skincare or health.
Skin Ratings: Through the analysis of facial recognition info, SkinIQ produces skin 'ratings' for each user, evaluating aspects such as moisture levels, texture, and the overall health of their skin. These ratings DON'T serve as medical diagnoses but aim to give users a better insight into their skin's current condition and monitor their progress over time as they explore skincare alternatives.
Retention and Storage of Facial Recognition Information:
We keep users' facial recognition information only as long as they have an active SkinIQ account. When a user deactivates their account or asks for their data to be deleted, we immediately and permanently delete all related facial recognition information. Users also have the option to delete any images they've uploaded to SkinIQ at any given time, and we ensure these photos are promptly removed from our storage system. SkinIQ doesn't hold onto facial recognition data or any user-uploaded images indefinitely.
Device and Usage Data
When you use SkinIQ, we automatically collect information about your device and how you interact with the app:
• Device type, model, operating system, and version
• IP address
• App usage statistics, including features accessed, session durations, and clicks
• Crash reports and performance data

• Third-Party SDK Integration: IQONIC.AI
For advanced AI-based analytics and skincare insights, we leverage services provided by IQONIC.AI. Facial recognition data, including images you upload, may be shared for the following purposes:
• Teledermatological Analysis: To provide personalized skincare recommendations and insights based on your uploaded photos.
• AI Research: (Only with your explicit consent) To improve AI-supported teledermatological diagnostic tools.
Facial recognition data shared with IQONIC.AI is stored securely on GDPR-compliant servers in Germany. It is protected through double encryption and retained only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or until you withdraw consent. If you delete your account with SkinIQ, your data is also removed from IQONIC.AI’s servers.
• OpenAI Integration:
We use OpenAI’s AI technology to power certain features of the app, including our food scanner. This feature analyzes the potential effects of various foods on your skin health. Data shared with OpenAI is processed securely and temporarily, ensuring that it is used solely for generating responses and recommendations. OpenAI does not retain your data beyond the time needed for processing.
• Privacy and Security:
All third-party providers, including OpenAI and IQONIC.AI, adhere to the highest standards of data protection and privacy compliance. We ensure that your information is encrypted during transmission and handled securely.
• Transparency and Control:
A detailed list of third-party service providers, SDKs, and AI partners we collaborate with, along with their privacy policies, is available upon request.
By leveraging trusted providers and innovative technologies, we strive to deliver personalized skincare insights and helpful features while safeguarding your privacy and maintaining transparency.
Data Storage and Security
Data Retention
• Account Data: Personal data related to your account is retained as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide you with our services.
• Facial Recognition Data: Facial recognition data is processed temporarily for analysis and deleted immediately after analysis unless you explicitly consent to its retention for future recommendations or AI research.
• Facial recognition data shared with IQONIC.AI for AI research is stored securely on servers in Germany and retained only as long as you have provided consent. If consent is revoked, or your account is deleted or inactive for three years, the data will be permanently deleted. For legal obligations, data may be retained in a restricted format for up to 10 years, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Payment Data: Retained as required by law for billing and tax purposes.

We implement a variety of technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption, firewalls, and secure server facilities. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
